Formed in 1987, Stewart Inter Sea has built up 30 years local knowledge within the Oil, Gas & Chemicals inspection industry and during this time has formed strong bonds with local suppliers, terminals, launch companies, logistics operators, fendering companies & shipping agents, to be able to offer the best and most efficient service possible.

Our reputation for excellence is founded on integrity, proficiency and an ability to meet client's individual requests. Our operations team is comprised of Master Mariners, Cargo Superintendents, Chemists and Senior inspectors, enabling us to provide rapid, accurate and effective service and solutions to our valued clients.

We operate mainly in West and Central Africa, and are an  ISO 9001 certified company.

Ben left school in 1997 to undertake a Cadetship with a major oil company on Tankers.

Coming ashore in 2001, he had a short break from the industry and in April 2005 joined a global inspection company as a Surveyor. He then went on to become the Operations Supervisor.

Ben joined Stewart Inter Sea in June 2009 on the Operations Team, and 4 years later assumed the role of Managing Director.

With over 10 years experience within the petroleum industry, Phil joined Stewart Inter Sea Ltd in 2012. 

 

Working on specialist projects within the company, Phil has experience in various facets of the inspection industry, including Gas Free Inspection, Hot Work Certification and involvement with local Biomass and renewable energy projects.

Mike worked in the Computer component & cable manufacturing industry for 8 years before joining a global inspection company in Ellesmere Port.

Joining the Stewart Inter Sea team in November 2010, Mike assists with overseeing the West African inspection operations plus attending in a Superintendency capacity on Crude Oil operations in various European ports.

Carl started in the industry in 2007 for a Global Inspection and Laboratory Company.

By the time he left in 2016 to join Stewart inter Sea, he had been a Contract Coordinator on a major laboratory contract for transformer oil, in charge of Sample Reception Department and managing the Sample Management Department.

A Chemistry major and former BP working oil condition analyst, Colin became a cargo inspector in 2008.

 

He has worked for two of the largest TIC companies globally, performing and managing cargo inspections at tank farms, refineries, offshore STS, and ports on a wide range of crude oils, chemicals and products. With his demonstrated experience and technical knowledge, Colin progressed quickly from inspector to Senior Operations Supervisor. Colin joined Stewart Inter Sea in June 2021.

Lisa is responsible for our laboratories in Togo and Benin in West Africa.

Beginning her career with Royal Dutch Shell in 1993, Lisa delivered in various roles within Analytical Laboratories for Research and Development. After 25 years, Lisa then went on to work at Intertek Caleb Brett as the Laboratory Supervisor and Quality Assistant before joining Stewart Inter Sea in September 2020.

Paul began at an early age, joining the Merchant Navy from school. From 2 major oil companies and 25 years at sea, he came ashore and became a partner at 'Inter Sea’. 

 

Paul secured the successful Nigerian Export Supervision Scheme (NESS) contract and has since expanded the business from Crude Inspections to Products and Ship-to-Ship Operations off West Africa

A Chemistry major, Rachel began her career at Bachem Ltd (UK) specialising in the synthesis of peptides. Rachel then joined Royal Dutch Shell in 2008, delivering in various roles within Automotive Lubricants product development and Lubricant Component and Formulation Quality management.

 

Rachel joined Stewart Inter Sea in December 2021 as the Laboratory & Quality Coordinator.

Nnamdi joined Stewart Inter Sea at inception in 1987 and has overseen our growth and expansion in the region.


He is directly responsible for Nigeria, Togo, Cotonou & Sierra Leone offices and manages the daily running all our operations.
